À la carte

20 Nov

We all have that one pair of skinny jeans sitting in the back of the closet underneath our fat jeans waiting for the day we finally get our crap together and get back in the gym or catch a stomach virus (whichever faster) to be able to fit into them again.

Well, these are mine, a pair of Morrison’s size 31 I purchase back in the fall 2007 at the GAP. That year for my birthday I dieted down to 154 lbs from 184 lbs, while out searching for a birthday look I tried these jeans on and they were perfect! No alterations needed. My usual problem with denim is that though I have a 31″ waist I also, have 38″ hips, 24″ thighs and a 34″ inseam which make fitting into standard sizes quite traumatizing. Either I’m too fat or waist too small for my length. The icing on this fat free cake was that when I got home I noticed that they were a size 31 and not the 32 I thought they were. Which meant I didn’t have to go up a size nor get them taken in at the waist and tapered at the calve.

Fast forward to me today, those magical jeans sent from Skinny-Jesus himself hasn’t been worn since 2008 not because I’ve gain weight but due to my daily jogging and cross training of lunges/squats my massive thighs won’t allow me to delve in such self motivating pleasures. But like most of you after a 24 hour fast and a 6.25 mile run I felt like playing in my closet; low and behold I stumbled across these Morrison’s. I practically slid into them, after shedding a few tears I figured these would go with the plaid shirt I dipped dyed Sunday.

Dip dyed or ombré is the new trend for updating your plaid or flannel look check out the post I did over at MusedMagOnline. I rarely do DIY projects nevertheless, I wasn’t about to pay $325 for practically an accessory but this was easy, cheap and fun. I’m happy with the final product…what you think?
