Last Day of NYFW ss13

13 Sep

Seems like all I’ve been doing this week is watching shows and Google images. Does this burn calories? If so I’m sure to fit this Spring/summer looks.

Really starting to reconsider this oversize look thanks to Assembly. In a collection of soft flowing lightweight fabrics this show really speaks spring of all the collections. I think these garments are versatile, I see some dressy pieces, relax pieces and lounge pieces. Kind of earthy yacht-boy just rolled out of bed.

Gant by Michael Bastian is another essential spring/summer collection for men. Full of wardrobe staple. This collection was preppy with a very nautical/island-like castoff aspect.

Michael Kors finally did a different collection other than safari or yachting. Putting a bombastic spin on the current colorblocking trend. I was excited to see the exaggerated coloring and striking lines and shapes. Being that I was disappointed by his last collection I think his recent marriage got him out of his rut. This show reminded me of Hilfiger early 2000.

I will admit I’m not a Jeremy Scott fan but this show was pure sex. I loved every second of it. A little over the top for my taste but an interesting take on 90’s urban gear and today’s club kids. Kind of Versace for H&M meets Rocawear. Sexy workout clothing.

LOVE Michael Kors – my favourite and best purchase ever was a MK tote that I’ve worn to death. Great for investment pieces!

Exactly – great word to apply *commercial* which translates for me to stylish, wearable and good quality.
